Dr. Seuss’ Silly Birthday Celebration

February

During the week leading up to Dr. Seuss’ Silly Birthday Celebration, we offer a literacy-focused experience designed especially for school groups. Groups can participate in Seuss-inspired field trips that encourage reading, creativity, and imaginative thinking. The experience is complemented by our on-site Scholastic Book Fair, providing students the opportunity to explore books and build their home libraries.

Summer Exhibit

May – August

Make your summer visit extra special! From May through August, the museum offers a limited-time traveling exhibit experience that showcases something new for guests to explore each year. Check out our seasonal exhibits page to find out what exciting exhibit we’ll welcome next!

Pumpkins & Pages

October

Get ready for a week of Halloween fun and literacy adventures! Students can dive into hands-on experiments, create their own spooky scarecrows, and enjoy fang-tastic programming where spooky stories meet hands-on science and crafty creations.

Mississippi Science Festival

September

Get ready to spark curiosity during Mississippi Science Festival week! Tinker Tuesday welcomes our youngest explorers, while Field Trip Friday is designed for older students. Visitors will dive into hands-on experiments, meet STEAM professionals, and see classroom science and math come to life in exciting, interactive ways.

Journey to the North Pole

November – December

Journey to the North Pole (JNP) offers your group a ticket to our magical holiday exhibit. In addition to exploring the JNP exhibit, taking a ride down the Snowflake Slide (MUST be at least 36” tall for this experience) and visiting the sock skating rink (students MUST bring socks for this experience), the Journey to the North Pole field trip offers students an exclusive reading of a favorite holiday book and an additional opportunity to make a holiday ornament to take home.

Sensory Thursdays

September 2026 – April 2027 | First Thursdays of every month

On Sensory Thursdays, field trips are limited to smaller groups of 40 or fewer, creating a calm, focused environment. Students and educators can enjoy a quieter, more relaxed experience, free from large crowds, so everyone can explore at their own pace.
