The Mississippi Children’s Museum (MCM) is committed to respecting the privacy of our donors. We have developed this privacy policy to inform donors of the way information is used and assure you that your information is secure. This policy includes details about MCM’s mission, the individuals who make up the board of directors, the development staff and how to access information about the organization or opt out of mailings if you so choose.

Information Collected

Here are the types of donor information that we collect and maintain:

  • Contact Information: name, phone number, email address
  • Payment Information: credit card number, expiration date, billing MCM utilizes Blackbaud’s Net Community Module credit card processing that allows private individuals and businesses to make payments over the internet. This module specifically focuses on providing the technical, fraud prevention, and banking infrastructure required to operate an online payment systems.
  • Request to receive periodic updates: to individuals who request it, we will send periodic mailings related to specific newsletters related to MCM’s programs and
  • MCM does not share any donor information with third party services or

How Information is used

We use your information to help you complete a donation transaction, communicate back to you and update you on MCM happenings. Credit card numbers are used only for donation or payment processing and are not retained for other purposes. MCM will not share or sell a donor’s personal information with anyone else.

Acknowledgement

Individual donors will receive a letter informing them of the amount of their contribution that is tax deductible and a thank you email or letter following their donation. Foundations and institutional partners are also listed on our website.

Opportunity to Opt-Out

On every email you receive, there are unsubscribe and manage email preferences buttons. You can choose to stop all emails or change the types of electronic publications you receive.  You may be receiving these emails because you were referred by another individual.

Web Security

MCM utilizes a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security on all web pages where individuals enter personal information.  This manages server authentication, client authentication and encrypted communication between servers and clients and ensures your information will not be compromised through the use of our donation page, found here.

Development  Employees

The Mississippi Children’s Museum maintains a Development team who handle the bulk of all donor and funder requests. The members who make up this team are salaried employees and work directly with the Director of Finance.  Any questions or concerns regarding donations, access to information or the privacy policy can be directed to the Development team.
