We All Play a Part, Talk From the Start!
Did you know that talking to and with your child from birth helps build their vocabulary at an early age and makes it easier for them to learn how to read?
An abundance of research has shown that talking to children from birth, and even when they’re in the womb, is crucial to their development. Specifically, talking with children from birth to age five increases language, literacy, and early childhood development, because language and literacy development start from the very beginning.
To further our mission, Talk From the Start has partnered with a national organization called Read Out and Read. These two programs share a harmonious mission focused on influencing early childhood development in children from birth to five years old. Through this partnership, these we will work to fulfill this mission together.
TALK from the START is a statewide campaign with a goal to raise awareness and boost the early language development of our youngest Mississippians.
