Join us on Saturday, February 3 for a special celebration of Lunar New Year 2024!
Lunar New Year is a celebration of spring and the start of a new year on the lunisolar calendar. This national holiday is observed in several Asian countries, including South Korea, China, and Vietnam – All of which are highlighted in the Celebrations exhibit, made possible by the Freeman Foundation and the Association of Children’s Museums. Come explore Lunar New Year traditions during this festive-fun celebration of the new year!
About Lunar New Year 2024:
- February 10, 2024 marks the beginning of the Year of the Dragon!
- China’s Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival (Chūnjié), is celebrated from February 10 – February 24
- Vietnam’s Tết is the most important festival and holiday of the year, lasting from February 8 – 14 this year
- South Korea’s Seollal holiday is celebrated from February 10 – 12
