Babysitter Academy

The Mississippi Children’s Museum – Meridian is thrilled to offer Babysitter Academy for teens, a CPR & babysitting safety certification course designed by American Safety & Health Institute (HSI)! This course will take place April 13th from 9:00am – 2:00pm.
Course Details
✓ Registration is $60.00/person, which covers:
- Lunch
- Digital Certification Card(s)
- Class Supplies
✓ Students must be 13-16 years old to register and attend.
✓ By the end of the training, students will have obtained the following certifications:
- HSI Adult/Infant/Child: CPR/AED
- HSI Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS)
About HSI Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS)
The HSI Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program gives teenagers and young adults everything they need to know for safe and successful babysitting. HSI CABS teaches how to start a babysitting business, interact with parents and children, and provides important safety and first aid information using the latest 2020 guidelines.
About HSI Adult/Infant/Child: CPR/AED
Course topics include:
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)
- CPR and Defibrillation
- Chain of Survival
- Assessment & Chest Compressions
- Rescue Breathing & Using a CPR Mask
- Using an AED
- Relief of Choking
About your instructor
Courtney Crowe, MCM-Meridian Director of Museum Experiences
Courtney has been an HSI Level 1 Instructor for the past 3 years. She is authorized to teach programs including Adult First Aid, Pediatric First Aid, CPR/AED All Ages, Wilderness First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Child and Babysitting Safety, Use and Administration of Epinephrine Auto Injectors, Oxygen, Stop Life Threatening Bleeding. Courtney is also Certified Wilderness First Responder through the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS).
This certification course is possible by a Community Foundation grant
