Harry Potter Birthday
Join us at the museum on July 27th from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm to celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday! On MCM’s most magical day, we invite witches and wizards from all over to join us for this enchanting event at the Mississippi Children’s Museum!
This year for Harry Potter’s birthday, we are preparing you to go Back to School – Hogwarts style! Start your journey by conducting a science experiment that will sort you into your Hogwarts house, then step inside the atrium to take a Back to School photo with our magical invisibility cloak.
Every new Hogwarts student needs a wand before attending classes, so don’t forget to stop by Ollivander’s Wand shop where you will use the magic of circuitry to create a wand that really casts Lumos! We have several classes for you to try, including Herbology, where you will learn how to care for a plant that you get to take home, Astronomy, where you will use our 3D pens to learn about the stars and planets close up, and Potions, where you will create your own slimy concoction! Each class gives you the opportunity to represent your House, with the House Cup winner announced on social media after the event ends!
But watch out—Voldemort has hidden his Horcruxes around the museum. If you are brave enough to find them all, you can choose a special Harry Potter themed sticker to display for your service as an Auror!
Costumes are encouraged. All adults must be accompanied by a child, and vice versa.
