Get ready to celebrate all things cold today at Winter Fun Camp.  We will read Snowmen at Night, paint a landscape, and learn about winter planted vegetables.  Besides artistic expression and some fun STEM activities your camper will also decorate their own gingerbread house in the afternoon.

Friday, December 27 – Earth and Space Day Camp

You Are the First Kid on Mars is the book for today’s Earth and Space Camp at MCM.  Gravity, light waves, force, and magnetism are the focus of the day.  Campers will be presented design challenges, perception questions, create a model of an asteroid, and more.

Monday, December 30 – Arts and Crafts Day Camp

Our Arts and Crafts Day campers will hear all about European artist Wassily Kandinsky.  Reading The Noisy Paint Box, cutting circles, finger painting, and hand tying colorful yarn circles is on our schedule.  Campers will also construct a few New Year’s party favors to be ready to celebrate 2020.

Thursday, January 2 – Spy Day Camp

Be ready to practice your undercover skills at Spy Day Camp.  Trick your family and friends by using your spy identification card, undercover journal, and very own secret decoder –all of which will be created at camp today.  Campers will read Spy Guy and learn other important skills like how to dust for fingerprints and movements to help them dodge out of the way of danger!

Friday, January 3 – Superhero Day Camp

Superhero Day Camp is full of shape shifting, moving metal, learning how to use all the latest “secret” technology, and some simple machines.  Costume design is first on the day’s agenda.  We will read Even Superheroes Have Bad Days to know how to use our powers for good.

Monday, January 6 – Nano Science Day Camp

What’s Smaller than a Pygmy Shrew is our themed book for Nano Science Day.  Campers will move, talk, create, and match things that are very, very large and very, very small.  This day camp will feature a fizzy experiment, peacock feathers, scented balloons, and magic sand moments.

Children ages 5-10 are welcome to participate in our day camps. Tuition and supply fee for each day is $55 per child for non-members and $50 per child for members. Included in camp fees are supplies for activities and experiments, morning and afternoon snack, and standard daily museum admission and programs.

Campers may arrive as early as 7:30am and stay until 5:00pm. A fee of $1 per minute will be accrued for children at MCM after 5:00 PM. Previously there was a $10.00 aftercare charge for any children staying after 3:00pm. This fee was eliminated in 2019.

Lunch is not provided in standard tuition cost. Lunch for your camper can be preordered through the Red Rocket Cafe at MCM on a daily basis. Brown bag lunches are welcome! Daily lunch cost is $5.35.
