DESCRIPTION:Visting Artist: Ray Gregory\nJoin us on June 5th and 19th from 11:00am-1:00pm for our Visiting Artist: Ray Gregory as he explores visual art. \nRay Gregory is an Associate Professor in the School of Art at Mississippi College. His primary studio area is ceramics\, and his work consists mostly of wheel thrown functional forms on which he likes to incorporate various types of surface decoration. \nPurchase tickets to the museum\nThis project is supported in part by funding from the Mississippi Arts Commission\, a state agency\, and the National Endowment for the Arts\, a federal agency.

DESCRIPTION:WonderBox Ribbon Cutting: Open to the Public\nJoin us on Friday\, June 18th for our official WonderBox Grand Opening! \n\nThe WonderBox gallery will be MCM’s state-of-the-art makerspace designed for visitors of all ages. Visitors will be able to explore various types of making. Hands-on experiences are essential for making and tinkering\, so our visitors will have access to a 3-D printer and pens\, robotics\, circuitry\, building activities\, crafting materials\, and so much more! WonderBox will feature three exhibits to enhance the visitor experience\, including a full-sized LiteBrite! Another component of WonderBox will be the display cases featuring amazing stories from the state of Mississippi. Mississippi has a rich history of innovators\, tinkerers\, and creators.  Some of those incredible people will be highlighted within the WonderBox displays.\n\nLearn more about WonderBox

DESCRIPTION:Professional Development Workshop: How Does Your Garden Grow?\nUsing the museum’s Literacy Garden as a backdrop\, teachers will experience an outdoor classroom and learn methods to bring the outdoors into their classroom. It will provide adaptable\, cross-curricular and inquiry-based activities for teaching students about nature and conservation.
