A growing body of research indicates that playing chess improves students’ problem solving and critical thinking skills\, which directly translates to their math\, science and reading scores. \nUnrated Divisions:\n\nK-5\nK-8\nK-12\n\nRegistration Fees:\n\n$20 Entry Fee per Tournament Participant (For both MCM Members & Non-Members)\n$5 per Accompanying Adult/Child (Free for MCM Members)\nAll fees will increase by $5 for walk-in registrants\nOnline registration closes on Jan. 24\, 2024\nAll entry fees include access to all museum exhibits during the event only\n\nPre-registration is recommended & appreciated. Richelle uses a variety of instruments to share songs\, including the keyboard\, guitar\, ukulele\, and mandolin. The children choose from drums\, shakers\, and tambourines. Preparing for the next song\, Richelle asks the children about the sound of the instrument\, if the music is fast or slow\, what the song is about\, and if it is happy or sad.
