SUMMARY:Coding Challenge
DESCRIPTION:CSpire Coding Challenge\nCoding is an important STEM skill for Mississippi kids. As part of MSF\, the LeFleur Museum District and C Spire encourage you to introduce Mississippi students to the programming language\, Scratch\, and participate in a coding activity available for all skill levels. \nScratch helps young people learn to think creatively\, reason systemically and work collaboratively – essential skills for life in the 21st century.  With Scratch\, you can program your own interactive stories\, games\, and animations. There’s no limit to what you can create. \nLeading up to Mississippi Science Fest\, please familiarize yourself and your students with Scratch through easy-to-use tutorials. There are even resources available for teachers. Click on these links to access frequently asked questions\, teacher resources and student tutorials. Then have your students create their own story using Scratch. \nOn Thursday\, September 16\, post photos of your end result on social media sites\, like Facebook\, Twitter\, Instagram and TikTok. Be sure and tag your post with #MSScienceFest and #CSpire to share with the Mississippi Science Fest and C Spire. We encourage all Mississippi students to participate. Happy coding! \nDid you know…\nDid you know that research estimates that by the year 2020\, there will be a shortage of over 1 million software developers in the United States? “For all we know\, the inventor of the next big thing or innovative app or software may be sitting in a Mississippi classroom waiting to be inspired and encouraged to become a leader in the rapidly evolving digital economy\,” said Carla Lewis\, Chief Technology Officer for C Spire. \nCoding Challenge brought to you by:
